Team PaniPuri of Nepalgunj conducts their action plan under the project Youth Leadership and Data!

After successful completion of the Youth Leadership and Data workshop in August 2018, one of the teams of Nepalgunj (Province 5) 'PaniPuri' conducted their action plan to aware about the situation of paan consumption from BP Chowk to Tribhuwan Chowk.

The team of 8 members conducted a survey from BP Chowk to TribhwanChowk (150m) and identified 9 PaanPasal on the way. At the outset there were just two dustbins, with the team planning to add 5 more on this roadway. Their survey also found that about 50 to 100 people visit the paan shop to consume paan at least once a day.

This workshop has made these team members youth data champions capable of developing evidence-based development projects in their community.

Youth Leadership and Data under the project Youth Empowerment-Youth Leadership and Data has created a network of young leaders who are capable of leading and supporting the development of their community through the use of open data as evidence for youth-led and data-driven development.

The project is supported by DFID Nepal, The Asia Foundation and Development Initiatives in coordination with Nepal in Data, Open Knowledge Nepal and NAXA.
