Yuwa Aaja! Desh Bhari Yuwa Rojgaari

As part of the Yuwa Aaja! Campaign, YUWA in partnership with Daayitwa is looking for innovative and energetic youth from four professional spheres – politics, civil society, bureaucracy, and private sector – to become Young Innovation Leaders who advocate for youth employment issues. The Yuwa Aaja! Campaign is designed around the premise that if we enhance the innovation and leadership capability of youth, then they will productively tackle policy and practice barriers to youth employment through reform campaigns.

  Campaign Description Yuwa Aaja! aims to address youth employment challenges at grassroots and government levels, as it is critical to treat youth not just as beneficiaries but also advocates, agents, and actors of the development process. The major campaign objectives are to:
  • Develop understanding of supply and demand side barriers to youth employment
  • Build capability of youth to lead innovative responses to identified barriers
  • Promote direct participation of youth in the development process
  • Harvest knowledge and engage stakeholders.
  Application Process The selection will be based on the potential of the applicants in mobilizing teams to take collective action in tackling societal challenges. Past leadership experiences and commitment to public service are critical. Evaluation of the applicants will be based on their written application and interview by a jury panel of acclaimed public leaders. Youth from the marginalized community are highly encouraged to apply. Interested youth should fill out the attached form and submit it to the Daayitwa Office or send an email to application@daayitwa.org. The form can also be filled out online at: http://bit.ly/YuwaAaja The following are the eligibility requirements:
  • Age of 40 or less (on end of Bhadra 30, 2074))
  • At least Bachelor’s Degree and/or 5 years of relevant work experience
  • Demonstrated leadership in public, private and/or social sector.
  Campaign Timeline Being an Innovation Leader does not require full time working hours. However, the campaigners will be required to commit to their campaign, which will be held from Mid- Chaitra to Bhadra, 2074.                                                                                                                                                                                   Campaign Requirements:
  • Participate in the advocacy campaign leadership training
  • Design and implement a campaign in a team to advocate for favorable policy reforms or against harmful societal norms by engaging the policy and practice beneficiaries, critics, and implementers so that youth are gainfully and equitably employed
  • Participate in cross-pollination events with various organizations currently affiliated with components related to youth employment
  • Conduct leadership discussion series to engage sector experts, public leaders, and seasoned entrepreneurs
  • Contribute to and actively engage in the organization of National Youth Summit in Bhadra 2074.
