Youth are active partners in the development process. Enabling them to translate their ideas into actions is our major task. Emphasizes on the civic awareness and civic issues, thus motivating and facilitating youth to act and take initiations and be informed on the issues of their concern.

We work with youth towards Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights sensitization through grass-root activities and advocacy. Provides awareness and greater involvement of young people in response to the issues related sexual and reproductive health and rights.

Economic Initiation and innovation

”Self-employment is key to eradicate poverty”.

Promotes youth entrepreneurship and supports upcoming entrepreneurs towards self- sufficiency. We work with youth to foster their economic initiation and promote their innovation to help them become potential entrepreneurs.

Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are the global goals for sustainable development adopted by 193 member countries of United Nations on 2015, which envisions to shape up the world and make the world a better place to live in by 2030. YUWA is also working in awareness and implementation of SDGs solely and also in partnership.

Project GIFT

Project GIFT

Addressing youth unemployment is crucial to the socioeconomic development of Nepal. Project Grassroots Innovation for Transformation (GIFT) envisions youth as change makers, where their economic innovations and entrepreneurship would transform their community. The project cycle covers four ‘Is’:

  • Identification
  • Initiation
  • Implementation
  • Innovation
The Identification phase offers workshops to youths to identify their available local resources and understand pressing issues in their community. The Initiation phase helps them to develop new ideas to solve such problems. The Implementation phase includes mentorship, skills and a seed fund (Youth Innovation Fund). The Innovation phase connects them to community of change agents and stakeholders for further innovation. Project GIFT is currently being run by YUWA in the Sindhuli district.

Identification and Management of Open Spaces is the project of International Organization for Migration, supported by US AID and Government of Nepal which aims to inform people of Kathmandu Valley about the open spaces.
